A Donation From Royal Canin Helps National Non-Profit Achieve Service Goals

Royal Canin Good Deeds are Great for Dogs on Deployment Shelter Partner

Dogs on Deployment is a non-profit organization staffed by a national network of volunteers.

Our primary mission is to provide an online resource for military members to search for volunteers willing to board their pets during deployments. We also seek to provide resources, education and advocacy for the military pet community, including our pet owners and DoD boarders.

Along with our outstanding volunteers, Dogs on Deployment works with sponsors and donors to help us grow, achieve important goals, and help animals everywhere. Royal Canin, reknowned pet health nutrition company, and one of our MPOTY sponsors, recently made a generous contribution which will help countless dogs!

Earlier in 2018, Dogs on Deployment introduced “Peanut” as its proud mascot and winner of the annual Military Pet of the Year (MPOTY) contest. Peanut’s proud mom is Michelle Parlette, a Major and Logistician in the United States Army. Peanut, a rescue dog, and Michelle are currently stationed in Germany, where they represent DoD.

Royal Canin

Royal Canin is a global leader in pet health nutrition. In an industry that continues to adapt to popular trends in cat and dog food, Royal Canin has remained true to its mission:

“to constantly bring, through Health Nutrition and shared knowledge, the most precise nutritional solution for cats’ and dogs’ health nutrition needs, by building on constantly deepened scientific knowledge and Royal Canin’s roots in the feline and canine professional networks.”

Making a Better World for Pets.

When the wonderful folks at Royal Canin read the news of Peanut’s triumphant win as Dogs on Deployment’s 2018 MPOTY and ambassador, they reached out to owner, Michelle Parlette and to Dogs on Deployment to see how they could help with our goals.

After much coordination, Royal Canin agreed to donate over 138 pounds of dog food to a rescue group of Michelle’s choice, which in this case, was an animal shelter named “Double E Rescue Ranch,” in Copperas Cove, Texas. Stacy of the rescue ranch told Michelle that she was so elated to receive the dog food delivery! “Oh my gosh, I can’t thank you enough! The ranch needed this so badly right now!!,” said a grateful Stacy. She added, “Michelle and Peanut are angels to all my little ones here.”

Royal Canin’s Generous Impact

“I can’t tell you how grateful I am to Royal Canin!,” continued Stacy of the “Double E Rescue Ranch. “As a sanctuary rescue we often get overlooked for support because we no longer have the capacity to actively pull dogs. It’s been a long time since we have had any financial donations or assistance.

I myself have been covering vetting, meds, supplies and food costs out of my personal pocket for the past year. But when our ranch was selected by Michelle Parlette to receive the generous Royal Canin donation of dog food, we felt super blessed. Thanks to Royal Canin, this food will help get the ranch through about a month, and for that we are so thankful! Little Bear, one of our dogs here, wanted to say thanks to all those involved.”

Dogs on Deployment gratefully acknowledges the contributions of Royal Canin, and its representative, Betania Kelly, SPT Retail District Manager, St. Charles, MO, Royal Canin USA for her efforts and assistance along the way!

We’re proud to share the good news! Dogs on Deployment has reached the minimum number of 5 star reviews on our Great Nonprofits profile!

President and co-founder of Dogs on Deployment, Alisa Johnson, said, “As a non-profit, we rely on the public’s support to make our mission possible. That doesn’t always have to be through monetary donations, and sometimes, we can find ways to creatively help other organizations with similar mindsets to help military members and save animals through the generosity of our sponsors. This was one such case, and we are so thankful for Royal Canin’s donation, and Michelle’s recommendation to give back to a charity in dire need of this pet food. “
