In response to counter the effects of the contagious virus, known as COVID-19, with medical testing, transportation and logistics support, tens of thousands of National Guardsmen are expected to be called to duty over the coming weeks. In addition, the Defense Department has placed hundreds of medical personnel on alert and ordered the deployment of two hospital ships to help public health agencies shore up their capacity as the coronavirus pandemic threatens to overwhelm community hospitals. This is an unprecedented pandemic in which military members and their families are going to turn to Dogs on Deployment for help with their pets’ care. With standard deployments and training, military members usually have months of planning to prepare to deploy. In this case, they may have days.

Owned by a US Air Force family, Jax is a young pup that requires a life-saving surgery. The family is struggling to afford the nearly $5,500 treatment. Jax is just one of 36 military pets currently seeking our help for financial assistance.
