The Zoom Room in Hampton Roads, VA recently played host to a very special event for Dogs on Deployment. This Virginia Beach facility prides itself on providing excellent service and training for dogs and their owners throughout the region. In August, Zoom Room-Virginia Beach outdid themselves when they brought an entire community together to support a military family!

Jeremiah and Leslie Baldwin, and their sons Chase and Jackson, had military service orders that sent them to England for 13 months. The Baldwin family needed to board their beloved dog, Bailey during that time.

Turning to Dogs on Deployment for help with boarding arrangements, they found Mike and Karen Pettinger. The Pettingers were previous volunteer dog boarders for Dogs on Deployment on four occasions and are avid DoD volunteers and donors. Mike and Karen provided Baily a loving home to stay in while her family was overseas. Once the Baldwin Family returned to the states, they anxiously awaited Bailey’s return.

Zoom Room-Virginia Beach has always been supportive and embraced the efforts of the Hampton Roads chapter of Dogs on Deployment by hosting or sponsoring events.  When the opportunity arose, Zoom Room-Virginia Beach jumped at the opportunity to host the reunion of Bailey and the Baldwin family.

These efforts were coordinated by Myra Smith, Hampton Roads, VA Chapter leader, and Allison Mercer, Executive Director for DoD. Mike and Karen, Bailey’s boarders graciously provided dinner for everyone in attendance.
